Police: Wilkes-Barre man arrested in drug trafficking bust

A Wilkes-Barre man is charged with drug trafficking after allegedly delivering a controlled substance in Hanover Township Thursday.

Hanover Township Police says William Benjamin, 37, of Wilkes-Barre, was taken into custody after delivering 300 packets of heroin to a police informant outside of Family Dollar store around 6 p.m.

Officers reported they recovered additional heroin and cash from Benjamin's residence, totaling to over $2,000 cash.

Benjamin was arraigned on delivery of a controlled substance, heroin, possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, and criminal use of a communication facility charges.

He was transported to the Luzerne County Prison at $50,000 bail, according to the press release.
