PennDOT launching new plow truck tracker on 511PA app
DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WOLF) -- PennDOT is fully launching a new feature on their 511PA app which will allow people to track where plow trucks are in their area.
PennDOT piloted the program last year.
It utilizes automated vehicle locators, which are in every service truck.
With that technology, users can visit 511PA.com or download the app to track where every plow truck in the region has been during the last six hours.
James May, from PennDOT, said, “Its really helpful because if you’re getting ready to go out and you want to decide when you’re leaving, you may want to wait until the plow truck goes past your house, and that way you know you’re behind the plow truck.”
Using the 511PA website or app, users can also views various PennDOT cameras on highways throughout northeastern PA to track traffic, construction, and weather conditions on the road.
