Mike Linden's Forecast | Severe threat returns to NEPA for Friday & Saturday
It all came down to Friday and Saturday as the threat for severe weather has returned to NEPA. The region will be under a Marginal risk for Friday (1 out of 5) while Saturday will be under a Slight risk (2 out of 5). Both days look to feature strong to severe thunderstorms bringing strong winds and heavy rain. The main threat will be the strong winds potentially up to 60 mph.
This is all due to the warm, moist air from the Gulf of Mexico making a return to the Pennsylvania. At the same time the moist air returns a cold front from the west pushes in. This will trigger the thunderstorms Friday evening and then again on Saturday afternoon/evening.
Behind the active weather the region not only cools down but calms down too. Daytime highs will hover around the upper 70s mark, just slightly cooler than normal.
