Heavy damage to area businesses in Wilkes-Barre Township
WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY Pa. (WOLF) —
Wilkes-Barre Township Police are asking the public to please avoid the area of Mundy Street and the Wyoming Valley Mall in Wilkes-Barre.
Many businesses in the area of The Arena Hub are reporting heavy storm damage.
There have been reports of a building collapses at Panera Bread and Barnes and Noble with people possibly entrapped.
Reports of light poles down at Smokey Bones on cars with entrapment and multiple vehicles overturned in parking lots.
Dick's Sporting Good may also have structural damage.
The Luzerne County Technical Rescue Team has been called in for assistance along with Avoca Rescue, Nanticoke and Mountaintop emergency response crews. Rescue teams will begin searchng the buildings.
