Geisinger cutting added sugar in beverages
Geisinger is making big cuts... to sugar.
Starting January 2018, Geisinger will be moving away from sugar-sweetened beverages across their system.
That includes drinks like regular sodas and sports drinks that contain added sugar.
They say that these beverages are the leading source of added sugar in American diet, contributing to obesity, diabetes and other health issues.
Geisinger hopes this elimination from their food services is a step towards better health for their patients and the community.
