Free parking and buses available for Air Show

PITTSTON TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WOLF) -- You can park for free at the Northeast Fairgrounds for this weekend's Air Show.

It's on Freeport Road, which is off Navy Way Road and Commerce Road south of the airport, and shuttles will be running to the show starting at 8:30 a.m.

You can also park at the airport, but the air show says that "preferred parking" and "VIP parking" can only be paid in advance at their website or Shur Save supermarkets.

In Scranton, COLTS says it will have free buses on Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:05 p.m. People can park in the state parking lot across the street from the bus station.

In Wilkes-Barre, LCTA says it is adding a special second bus on Saturday only from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., along with its regular Saturday airport bus.

"It's gonna shuttle from the Wilkes-Barre Intermodal to the airport, back and forth, all day long to shuttle people to and from the air show," says LCTA executive director Norm Gavlick. "There will be no cost for those shuttles that day, for the regular #17 or the shuttle. People will be able to come downtown, park down here some place, get on a bus, and get a ride up to the air show."

Also, a road closure has been announced due to the Air Show.

The Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike between Exit 115/Wyoming Valley and Exit 131/Clarks Summit will be closed tomorrow and Sunday from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
