Four displaced after fire breaks out at Wilkes-Barre Twp. home

A fire broke at at this home on Church St. in Wilkes-Barre Twp. Friday night.

WILKES-BARRE TWP. (WOLF) -- Four people are being assisted by the Red Cross after a fire forced them to evacuate their home in Wilkes-Barre Township Friday night.

According to our news-gathering partners at the Times Leader, the fire broke out just before 9 p.m. at a building at the intersection of Church and Chestnut streets.

A resident of the neighborhood says the building is a double-block structure with several apartments.

In addition to shelter, the Red Cross is also helping the victims with food and clothing.
