Distracted driving blamed after rollover crash
RYAN TOWNSHIP, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WOLF) -- It was a scary situation for a driver from Pottsville when her minivan flipped over onto its roof near Frackville.
It happened around 11 a.m. Thursday on I-81 near Mile 129.
Police say Aimee Thompson, 40, got distracted when she went to change a podcast on her phone, and looked up to discover a pothole-filling crew with an arrow truck.
Troopers say she swerved and lost control, hitting the guard rail, and is being cited for careless driving.
We also saw that a rear tire was laying nearby after the crash and the guardrail was bent, but did not break.
Thompson was taken to a Hazleton hospital and firefighters say she had a cut on her hand.
