Bucknell Women's Basketball

The Bucknell women's basketball team are trying to repeat as Patriot League champions.

The Defending Patriot league champions have a lot to live up to in this season. Gone are 3 starters from last year’s league tournament title team. But the bison are still the favorites to repeat despite only having two seniors.

Senior Catherine Romaine says, "We have 6 new people basically this year. Four freshmen and the MK and Ellie were both injured last year. So there is definitely a learning curve."

Junior Kaitlyn Slagus added "Figuring out the new tendencies of everyone was definitely a struggle early on but were finally have it figured out."

What this team has figured out is that the freshman can really play.

Junior Kate Walker says- " One think that is different from them and us when we were freshman I think they a lot more confident than we were when we were freshman. Which is great to see, they take a lot of shots during practice which is nice because we do not have to ease them into that."

One of those freshmen who has made the biggest impact in Boyertown’s Abby Kapp. The 2017 miss pa basketball has ties to northeastern PA. Her father Jerry played at West Scranton and at king’s college.

Freshman Abby Kapp added :it has been great , I think that learning my role on the team has been something I have been trying to do this past couple of weeks and I think I defiinitely got the hang of it. "

Patriot league play starts at the end of month and the bison have tried to prepare this team for the upcoming grind….

Walker added "I think it is just a new team. I am not really sure what to expect because we are such a new team but in the Patriot League I mean every team is pretty good and you going to get a game from every team especially when we won last year and we know we have the target on our backs. We have to play well every single night."
