DICKSON CITY, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WOLF) -- MSNBC anchor Brian Williams spoke to a packed crowd at the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick annual dinner this evening. More than a thousand men dressed up for the occasion at Genetti Manor in Dickson City. Former toastmasterJohn Cosgrove says a common thread for the friendly sons is the pride they all feel in their Irish-American heritage.

"This is a celebration of our heritage, the Irish heritage, and of course, today, everyone in Northeast Pennsylvania is Irish. It's a great day of tradition, it's a great day of joy, and an event like this is a place where everybody kind of culminates together and honors the heritage we're all so proud of," says Cosgrove.

The group has been celebrating on this day for the last 112 years.
