The Volpe Report with Tom Carlucci
The 112th Legislative District has seen its representative in Harrisburg change four times in the last 12 years with one of them being rejected by the voters but then elected again two years later.
Tom Carlucci, who was the featured guest on The Volpe Report from Sunday, March 3, 2018, on FOX56, is a candidate for the Democratic nomination in the 112th District in the May Primary for what appears to be an open seat following current Representative Kevin Haggerty's declaration to not seek reelection after missing 200 legislative votes in the House between July and December.
The current holder of the seat in the 112th, says Carlucci, "Has broken his trust with the people." To draw attention to both his candidacy and the lack of representation in the district, Mr. Carlucci late last year bicycled 16.5 hours from the border of the district to the state capitol. Mr. Carlucci described the trek as "quite an experience" while all the time thinking of the people back home. "They deserve better," he added.
Mr. Carlucci's priorities should he become the party's nominee and eventual winner in a Democratic-dominated district will be a severance tax on natural gas, more funding for education and property tax relief for those 65 years of age and older.
